The artist and writer went to the museum

. . . and saw art inspired by writing. J and I went to the Edgar Allan Poe A Baltimore Icon exhibit on Halloween at the Baltimore Museum of Art. Each painting/drawing was inspired by a Poe story or poem. I'm a huge Poe fan, so I really enjoyed it. All of the art was creepy and dark, and the exhibit was free! We decided to bring our Pez friend along for the day.

They have the cutest gift shop at the BMA, and a special section set up for the Poe exhibit. All of the items were black, baroque and beauteous. I had to pick up a few souvenirs--a book titled, Cat, and an hourglass filled with black sand. It looks grey in the picture, but it's jet black in person.

After we wandered around for a bit, we walked over to the park by the museum. I love this kitty outside.

After frolicking through the fall foliage we headed to one of my favorite places in Baltimore: The Paper Moon Diner. I've been dining there since I was sixteen years old. It used to be open twenty-four hours, but they've changed that a bit. Each room is decorated differently, and it's an all around up-beat place to eat.

We decided to stop by the Westminster Burying Ground & Catacombs where Poe is buried on the way out of the city. His house, which you can tour, is right down the street from his grave.

This odd thing was down in the catacombs as decoration.

We had a great Halloween this year! Unfortunately, since I played around all day, I've had a TON of work to catch up on, and now the long week begins. It was worth it though. How did your day turn out?

Happy Monday!
XOXO

That hour glass is awesome! That diner looks like so much fun. Is that a ton of Pez dispensers on display in the window??? :D I love E.A.Poe also. I read that they recently gave him a proper funeral. I though that was sweet.
